10 truths

“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” – Buddha

Every single day you are confronted with negative things that run the risk of destroying your happiness and your overall sense of well-being.

When you hear negativity on a regular basis, it is easy to buy into it.

Don’t!

Don’t let yourself get caught up in other people’s drama. You have the power to make your day great.

You can squeeze out the negative thoughts by reminding yourself of the things that truly matter. This extremely powerful and effective method is often referred to as self-talk. Think of it as giving yourself a little pep talk every day to help keep you focused and ultimately—positive.

Here are 10 truths to keep telling yourself every day so you can see more of what’s good.

1. I am proud of who I am. You don’t need anybody’s acceptance or affirmation. You have made mistakes and you have triumphed and become the person you are today.

2. I have a lot to smile about. You truly do. Some days it may be a little tougher to find those things, but a blooming flower, a friendly smile from a neighbor or walking in the grass with your bare feet are all things to smile about.

3. I don’t need to dwell on yesterday. Yesterday is gone and you don’t have to think about what happened or what you should have done. Focus on the present and do what you can to have a better tomorrow.

4. I can make the time to do the things I truly enjoy. Don’t fall into the trap of skipping out on doing something you love because you don’t have the time. You do.

5. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. You, nor anybody you encounter, deserves to be treated with anything less than kindness and respect.

6. I can choose to be happy. You don’t have to let outside factors take away your happiness. You have control of that.

7. I am worthy of love. Sometimes, it can feel as if you have made mistakes that make you unworthy of being loved. That isn’t the case at all. You deserve to be loved and you will be.

8. I am not perfect and I don’t have to be. Nobody is and your imperfections are what make you unique and special.

9. I can make a difference in my life. You have the power to make decisions that will make your life better. You can work harder, play more and be happier.

10. Honesty is always the best policy. You must be honest with yourself and others. Accept your shortcomings and those of others and be honest. It is the only way to start changing the world.
