Go ahead, wear red today on National Wear Red Day 2011. It’s to support awareness of heart disease in women, sponsored by the American Heart Association.

Many of us will be wearing red today, will you?  Better yet, will you do something to prevent heart disease, the number one killer?  Losing weight is something you can do.  So is lowering your cholesterol, with diet (eating more vegetables and fruits, less saturated fat and carbohydrates) and with exercise, and medication if you and your doctor think so.

Many celebrities are wearing red to bring attention to women’s health.  I saw George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts on Good Morning America wearing red.  Also, Jennie Garth is the National spokesperson for the cause. Watch Jennie Garth talk about Wear Red Day 2011 in the video clip below.

Let’s all wear red today and have healthy hearts.
