Dr. Norris J. Chumley Satisfied Life

Recently, I’ve been so busy that I just have not been able to get to the gym, or my dance class regularly.  I know that to maintain my weight, and to feel good, I need to move.  So I’m walking.

This morning I have a meeting about a mile away from where I live.  I’m going to leave an hour early, and walk to the meeting!  I will not have to rush and arrive all sweaty, no, I’m going to walk at a medium pace, and feel really awake and energized when I get there.

Walking is terrific.  I make sure to swing my arms as I walk, in counterpoint to my legs.  I stop at corners and stretch my legs – I stand tippy-toe, or use a curb to stretch my hamstrings.  I often will raise my arms and reach out from side-to-side.  I don’t care what I look like or what people think! (They probably are impressed that I’m “working-out while walking.”

Let’s all go for a walk today!
