An easier way to lose weight and maintain it, without drastic diets, is just to eat half of what you are eating, and take twice longer to eat.

For breakfast have half a bagel instead of a whole one.  Or half your usual full bowl of cereal.  or one egg instead of two.

Lunch could be half a bowl of soup (or a cup), and half a sandwich  

Dinner might be half of what you usually have, or no second helpings.

While you’re having half, share the other portion with your family or a friend.  Or save it for the next meal.  Then eat slowly, very slowly, chewing each bite 15-20 times.  You might also want to say a prayer of thanks for every bite.

Halving your diet will not only save you many calories, it will greatly reduce your budget for food. Not so bad!
