Are you able to take a few of these last summer days for a little vacation?  That’s a great idea, if you can.  Be sure, however, to not vacation from taking good care of yourself.
It’s easy to fall into vacation diet disasters – here are some ways to avoid trouble:
— A vacation isn’t license to kill.  Just because you’re taking a break, don’t let your food plans get broken!
— Whatever you do, continue to eat healthy foods, like fresh summer vegetables and fruits.  This is primetime for garden fresh produce: enjoy it!
— Avoid fast food joints while travelling.  If you must stop at a burger, pizza or friend chicken chain, have a salad, or grilled chicken, without mayonnaise or fatty cheese.
–Fill yourself with water, unsweetened ice-tea, or carbonated water, instead of high calorie sodas.
–Go easy on meats, sticking with vegetables.  If you crave protein, have fish, preferably broiled or lightly sautéed.
–Eating out can be fun, but don’t fall prey to big portions.  Skip appetizers, or have vegetable crudités.  Cut the serving in half before you start, instead of eating past your full point.
PLEASE COMMENT, and tell us what you’re doing to truly vacation – not from healthy habits – but a vacation from self-abuse and high stress.
