A tip of the hat to all of you who visited and commented in this blog this last week on several subjects: New Year’s Resolutions, being with God, exercise and going to the gym, and Janice and my first online conversation, “What Are YOU Hungry For?”  We love an active conversation.

Burt wrote a few days ago, in response to my entry, the 30th New Year’s tip, on being “God-Centered.”

“I am encouraged by all you who are doing so well with your quest for a healthier life! I am also losing weight and plan to continue. I’m trying to expand my friendships. I am meeting people mostly at the gym and it’s great that they all have the same goal as well. It is great to be feeling healthier and more fit! Thanks for the encouragement!”

Sounds like you are experiencing a very positive way to think and be, Burt.  Congratulations.  The first sentence got me a little worried about you, though, wondering if you were doing well.  Then the second sentence assured me that you, too, are doing well and being well.  Then, the rest of your comment told me you are “getting it.”  Yes, weight loss, and well-being is all about being fully human, and that includes being in community and among friends.  Also, weight loss is about being physically active, and gyms are a good place to have fun, get some recreation, and feel good.  I really love your line, “it is great to be feeling healthier and more fit.”

Yes, I agree it is great to be healthy and fit.  It’s not so great to not feel healthy, and not be fit, though.  We all know that predicament, I’m sure.  I really know it.  So I think of our readers, and our online community – those who do not comment – those who perhaps are not doing so well, and “get it” but cannot “do it.”  For one reason or another.

So I send out my heartfelt thoughts for those who are doing well, and those who are not, and those in the middle.  We’re all with each other in this wonderful life, no matter what predicament we’re in.

We’d love to hear from anyone and everyone.  Please keep posting!  Please keep trying.  Please keep praying and connecting with God, and with each other.
