That’s the name of a popular website that has now become my favorite loitering place on the ‘net.

And for good reason. Some of this stuff is so insanely hilarious, you just know it has to be true. Believe me, I know.

My own personal example: I recall vividly the words of a certain well-paid female anchor who was reading over the copy for that night’s show, and stumbled on a phrase that was evidently new to her.

“Hey,” she called out, “What’s an ‘outlet store’?” She was serious. She thought it might be place where they sell electrical outlets.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Or stuff like this, from the website:

“Why would I be ready for kids? I’m not ready for kids. I’m not even ready for cable.”

Or this:

Fashion reporter about her loud computer: “If it’s gonna make this much noise, it oughta come out with a latte.”

Or this:

Editor in chief: “Wait, what estate are we again? The fourth or the fifth?”

Pay a visit and have a laugh. The media is good for something after all.

On a related note: I also stumbled across this pretty neat website: “AngryJournalist.com.” Love the t-shirts. (Especially the David Simon one. I knew David in college, at our school paper, where he was an underweight, unshaven, nicotine-fueled feature writer in a discolored tee shirt who stayed up all night writing record reviews. I guess that worked out for him.)
