While spending a lazy Saturday surfing through iTunes, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Kristen Chenoweth has a Christmas album. My wife and I first discovered Chenoweth a few years ago, in a revival of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.” We were instantly smitten.

A couple years ago, for our anniversary, we went to a concert performance of Leonard Bernstein’s “Candide,” with the New York Philharmonic, starring KC herself. Below is her interpretation of that musical’s most famous number, from a 2004 concert with the Boston Pops.

I doubt anyone, anywhere, has ever done this better. Want to see and hear pure joy? This is it.
