Dolly Parton’s family is asking fans around the world to join together in prayer after the country icon was forced to postpone her long-awaited Las Vegas residency due to health concerns.

Her younger sister, Freida Estelle Parton — an ordained minister and fellow musician — took to Facebook with an emotional plea for “prayer warriors” to lift Dolly up during this difficult time.

“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,” Freida wrote. “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”

Freida, who is one of twelve siblings in the beloved Parton family, shared a photo of Dolly clasping her hands in prayer while dressed in a silver outfit, adding, “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”

Dolly’s Health Update and Postponed Shows

Dolly, 79, announced on September 28 that she would have to postpone her Dolly: Live in Las Vegas residency, which was set for December 4–13. The shows would have marked her first extended Vegas run in over three decades.

“Unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” she explained on Instagram. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”

She added her trademark humor, saying, “It must be time for my hundred-thousand-mile checkup — although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

But in classic Dolly fashion, the singer-songwriter also expressed gratitude and faith, assuring fans she would be back.

“You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” she said. “I just need a little time to get show-ready, as they say.”

Faith and Gratitude in the Waiting

Even while resting, Dolly made it clear that she’s not slowing down spiritually — or creatively.

“Don’t worry about me quitting the music business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she wrote. “But I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

For millions of fans who grew up with Dolly’s voice and faith-filled optimism, her sister’s message reminds them that even the strongest hearts sometimes need the prayers of others.
