Update: Since this post has been published, Hayley Erbert made an emotional return to the stage with her husband on the opening night of their “Symphony of Dance” tour in Melbourne, Florida. In a video shared to TikTok, Erbert is seen getting emotional onstage while the crowd gives her a standing ovation. In a recent interview with Fox News, Hough said that his wife’s recovery has been nothing less than a miracle. “It’s nothing short of a miracle, honestly,” he said. “Both Hayley and I’ve shared our gratitude towards the medical professionals and everybody that was just so on top of their game and just did the best they could and did an incredible job.”

“Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough has shared a health update on his wife Hayley Erbert, three months after she underwent emergency brain surgery. Hough shared that there is a “strong possibility” that Erbert will be dancing on stage soon. “There’s a possibility, there really is,” Derek told E! News of Hayley being a part of his upcoming summer tour. “And we actually met dancing on stage on tour. Our first kiss was on stage on tour. We were touring last year for the first time as a married couple and now this, going back out, there’s a completely different meaning and tension.” He told the outlet that his wife’s health scare has served as an inspiration to others. “I almost need to rename the tour to the Miracle Tour or something,” he said, adding, “because if there’s a moment where she’s with us and joining us on stage, it’s going to be unbelievably special. I don’t know even know how I’m going to [get] through it. I’m an emotional guy.”

In December, Erbert became disoriented after a show and was rushed to the hospital for emergency brain surgery for a cranial hematoma. “At the end of last night’s tour performance in Washington D.C., my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital,” Hough wrote on Instagram at the time. “She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy. She is in stable condition.” He added, “I want to thank the first responders and medical personnel who have cared for and continue to care for her. I ask for your prayers and positivity during this time.” Erbert underwent multiple surgeries, including a skull implant, over the past few months. In February, the pair shared a joint Instagram post where they sat down sharing updates and Erbert showing her scar for the first time. “As some of you may know, in December… I had an emergency craniotomy and then a couple weeks later had a cranioplasty and here I am today,” Erbert said, sitting next to her husband. “It’s been quite the journey. There’s been so much that has happened in two months.” Erbert, tearing up, said when she woke up after her first surgery Hough told her “Babe, there’s so many people thinking about you, there’s so many people sending love to you,’ and I remember just looking at him and just saying, ‘You didn’t even have to tell me that. I can feel it.’ Like, I genuinely felt that through my body. I felt it in my heart. I felt it in my soul. So, thank you all so much for all of your messages, your love your energy, your light, your prayers. Thank you guys for all of it ’cause it means so much to me and to us as a family.” Erbert added, “I also got a new skull, but yeah, also a new outlook on life. Like life is so precious and just spend time with the ones you love. Hold them close cause you never know what could happen.”
