Longtime NBC weatherman Al Roker was recently readmitted to the hospital following new complications with blood clots. Roker, who can be seen on NBC’s Today television program, recently told his social media followers that he had been admitted to the hospital after blood clots were found in his legs and lungs.

“So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been. Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs,” he wrote on Nov. 18. “After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers, and hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend, everyone.”

On Thanksgiving Day, Roker’s wife, Deborah Roberts, shared that her husband was released from the hospital and able to celebrate the holiday with her at home.

“Thursday thankfulness and then some. Holding on tight and cherishing this moment like never before. Welcome home, my dear sweetheart, @alroker. Gratitude isn’t an adequate description, but we will start there. Brilliant medical minds. Loving family and friends. Unceasing Prayer warriors. #thanksgiving,” she wrote on Instagram.

Hours later, however, the television personality was readmitted to the hospital. “Al was taken from his home on a stretcher back to the hospital on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. His condition was worrying, but once back in the hospital, he improved,” one witness told Page Six.

Fortunately, Roker is now home after his blood clot complications. “Home! So incredibly grateful to family, friends, medical folks, @todayshow family and all your thoughts and prayers,” he wrote on Instagram last Thursday. Roker’s wife, Deborah Roberts, also confirmed her husband’s return on Instagram. “Home. Where the heart lives. #grateful #heart #humbled #prayer,” she wrote, adding a picture of her, Roker, and their daughter.

Early last week, Roker told his followers that he hoped to be home again soon. “Hopefully coming home soon, but when your spirit sags a bit, you get to see that and recharge,” he captioned the Instagram post. “God Bless you all for all the prayers and well wishes for me and my family.”

As reported by CBN News, fans, friends, and family have expressed support for Roker and have kept him in their prayers. While Roker is out of the hospital, he is still recovering at home. “Listen, it’s been a tough slog. I’m not going to deny this,” he told the Today Show in a video update Monday morning. “It’s been the hardest one yet, and you know I’ve had my share of surgeries. It gives you a profound sense of gratitude for this outpouring of prayers and thanks. I’m a very fortunate person.” He added, “I’ve got a number of issues, but I feel good, I feel strong, and every day I feel a little bit better.”

Roker, who has been on NBC’s Today since 1996 and occasionally hosts 3rd Hour Today, is also a devout Catholic. Let’s continue to keep Al Roker and his family in our prayers.
