This week’s message: The Ten Illusions of Humans
There have been many times during the writing of the Conversations with God dialogues that I have been startled. There have been many times that I have been shaken to the core of my being by what was being brought to me and through me. But no time has been more profound than when I was writing Communion with God and found myself confronted by the following statement:

“Not only are you not living the Ten Commandments, what you are living is the “Ten Illusions of Humans.”
I had no idea what this statement meant, and the information that followed made it an even more astonishing revelation.
I am not going to run through the Ten Illusions of Humans in great detail for you here, because I assume that if you need or desire that information you will go to the book Communion with God and find it there. For the purposes of this lesson, let me just say that the Ten Illusions of Humans amount to the most profound statement to be found anywhere in the entire CwG cosmology about the way things are in the life that we are experiencing here on Earth, as well as why they are that way.
Nowhere, from Conversations with God – Book 1 to the final text in the CwG body of work, Home with God, has the cosmology of all of life been more completely explained than in Communion with God and the section of that book, in particular, that deals with the Ten Illusions of Humans.
There have been few things in my life that have made it more clear to me why things are the way they are, why my life is showing up the way it is showing up, and why the world keeps repeating the patterns of devastation and destruction, of misery and despair, of violence and killing which it does from generation to generation, from century to century and from millennia to millennia.

We believe in an entire set of concepts and ideas which have no basis in ultimate reality. We live in a world which is illusory in nature, and yet we insist on acting as if everything is really quite real. The Ten Illusions of Humans spells out for us exactly what it is about human experience which is unreal. Let me give you just one example.
It is one of the Ten Illusions of Humans that “superiority exists.” This is one of the most devastating of all the illusions. It has had a greater impact on humanity than virtually any other belief that our species holds. It is an illusion because we are all one, and a thing cannot be superior to itself. If we are all one, then superiority does not exist. Yet the illusion is very real and it is our belief in this illusion which has created so many of the behaviors which in turn have produced so many of the miseries that human beings have subjected themselves to and have subjected others to for many thousands of years.
This is just one of the Ten Illusions of Humans. Communion with God not only lists these illusions one by one but explains them in extreme detail, and also talks about how we can live with these illusions but not within them.
This is not a small matter. The idea is not to throw the illusions out or to discard them, for doing so would be devastating to life as we know it. The idea is to use the illusions as a magician uses his own tricks to produce a specific result or outcome. The illusions of humans have been put into place by humanity itself in order to create a context within which we may know and experience, announce and declare, express and fulfill who we really are.
Without these illusions, such a context could not be created and such an experience would not be possible. Masters know this and this is why masters never seek to destroy humanity’s illusions, but seek merely to step outside of the illusion and work with it to produce a particular experience.
This, too, is explained in great detail in Communion with God, along with ways in which each of the Ten Illusions of Humans may be used as tools in the creation of our highest experience of Self.
I have never found a more sophisticated or articulate description of the process of life itself, of the ins and outs of humanity’s day-to-day expression, and of the reasons that humanity is experiencing what it has been experiencing for thousands of years than I have found in the text of Communion with God. I strongly urge everyone to find and read this book if you have not already done so. If you think that it is simply “more of the same” and a repeat of the information that was contained in the Conversations with God trilogy, you would be making a great mistake.
I will list here for you the Ten Illusions of Humans, but I cannot explain them in sufficient detail here in this brief communication to do them justice. You must do yourself and your soul the favor of exploring this astonishing topic at the depth that only a thorough reading of Communion with God could take you to. The Ten Illusions of Humans are:

Disunity Exists
Insufficiency Exists
Requirement Exists
Judgment Exists
Condemnation Exists
Conditionality Exists
Superiority Exists
Ignorance Exists
With this list and the clarity that the explanation in Communion with God brings, you can negotiate life in an entirely different way than you ever moved through life before. You will see the everyday experiences of your life encounters in a different way. You will experience the challenges of life in a different way as well. It will be as if you are suddenly armed with tools that you never had before, and that you did not even know existed.
