The five-page letter was from a waitress at a local café. She was a member of our church who had recently surrendered her life to Christ, but nearly everyone she worked with was living far from God.

“I want to tell you a few things about Christians, from my non-Christian friends’ perspective,” she began. The list of grievances was heart-wrenching.
Christians are demanding.
Christians take up our tables for hours on end.
Christians push literature on us.
Christians rarely tip generously.
“None of the waitresses I work with look forward to the Sunday crowd,” she went on to explain. “We arrange our schedules so that nobody gets stuck with them two weeks in a row … it’s the least we can do for each other.”
I read the whole letter and then read it through once more. What does this say about Christ-followers, I wondered, when we neglect something as basic as treating a server with kindness, respect, and gratitude?
