In light of Tom Cruise’s latest news-making appearance, a taped interview meant to introduce an appearance at Scientology event, Beliefnet has decided to answer the call to discuss both Scientology and Cruise’s apparent place within the religion. We are covering this topic three ways.
First, there is this piece from Mark Oppenheimer that tries to take a more balanced approach to Scientology, pointing to Cruise as fundamentalist within, rather than a typical example of, the religion.
