Pastor Greg Laurie and the organizers of the Harvest Crusade are celebrating one of the biggest turnouts the event has ever had. Harvest Crusade is an annual event that has been held the last 35 years, and this latest event held at Angel Stadium packed the stadium to capacity at 45,000 people in attendance plus 200,000 watching online. 6,500 people also made professions of faith. It is the second year in a row that the stadium has been packed. The response to follow Christ was so big that the fire marshal had to intervene to prevent more people from coming onto the field. “I respect the fire marshal. They’re just doing their job. But the good news is you don’t have to be on the field to accept Christ. You can do it wherever you are,” Laurie told the crowd. “We prayed this would be one of the greatest Harvest Crusades in our history—and God did exceedingly, abundantly above all we could ask or think,” he said.

Christian artists Chris Tomlin, Brooke Ligertwood, Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe Carnes and We The Kingdom also performed at the event. Tomlin concluded the event with “Good, Good Father” and “How Great Is Our God.” Laurie called the event “truly a taste of Heaven.” During its 35-year run, 6 million people have attended Crusade events in-person, with 5 million watching online and 600,000 people making professions of faith worldwide. “I never get tired of preaching the gospel. When I step into the pulpit at a Harvest Crusade, my job is to throw the seed of the gospel. God’s job is to convert,” said Laurie. “Our objective is to reach unexpected people in unexpected places with an unexpected message.”

Laurie made a video of encouragement to those who made professions of faith at the most recent event. He discussed The New Believer’s Bible that was handed to each new believer and how it could help them grow in their faith. “I hope you’ll start using your New Believer’s Bible,” he said, adding that he would send a copy of the Bible “at no charge” to any new believer. He encouraged the new believers to first start in the Word of God, to pray, and to go to church. “Some people try to follow Christ without going to church or they go sporadically, that’s not good the Bible says. Afterward, he encouraged them to share their faith with others. “Welcome to the family of God,” he concluded. “You made the right decision.”
