Adjustment Bureau scores solid box office opening.
The sci-fi romance starring Matt Damon pulled in a very respectable
$20.9 million over the weekend, Director George Nolfi believes the film,
which explores ideas of predestination and free will, has strong appeal
for Christian audiences, telling Big Hollywood “I’ve long been fascinated with the question of how much we control our
own destiny or how much we’re controlled by larger forces. When I think
of that question it’s not explicitly theological, though I think that’s
one of the answers. I studied philosophy in grad school and it
intertwines with theology. Is it social forces, like what family you’re
born into, or God’s plan for you that shapes your life most? We’re set
on a path by something much bigger than ourselves, and yet we also know
we have choices and that they matter.”
I have it on good authority that this one’s worth catching.

Criticism mounts against ABC’s Good Christian Bitches. Christians and woman agree, the pilot’s title sucks. Christian women are doubly offended. And, believe it or not, it’s just one of two pilots at the network with the “B” word in its title. Here I thought “B” in ABC stood for broadcasting. Anyway, maybe the “C” stands for crass.
