Donald Trump for President? Will the the real estate tycoon/Apprentice
star get to tell Barack Obama he’s fired? For the record, he (of
course) says he’d fix the economy and get America respected again. He
also reportedly says he’s pro-life, anti-gun control and promises to dismantle
Obamacare. Not endorsing here, just reporting.

Book: Abraham Lincoln wanted to send freed slaves to colonies outside the U.S.
I think its wise to judge the the 16th president’s ideas in the context of their time. Before him, the American Colonization Society of Free People of Color of America helped found Liberia in the 1820’s as a haven for freed American slaves — with the support of people like Paul Cuffee, a wealthy mixed-race race Christian businessman who also established a racially-integrated school in Massachusetts.

Glaring omission! In yesterday’s post about about Big Hollywood’s Nick Nolte’s quest to name the 25 greatest Christian movies of all time, I offered my own nominees — but left out one of the finest (and most-obvious) examples. No list of movies with great Christian messages would be complete without the classic Frank Capra film It’s a Wonderful Life! So, I officially add it to my personal list of nominees: Jesus of Nazareth, Schindler’s List, Joe Versus the Volcano, Tender Mercies, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Bells of St. Mary’s, Doubt, Signs and Amazing Grace.
