Charlie Sheen’s goes on an unfortunate interview spree.
The suddenly ubiquitous sitcom star rants to anyone who will listen — dissing
his concerned father in the process and claiming “I am on a drug, it’s
called Charlie Sheen.” If his intent was to prove he doesn’t have a
problem, he’s failed miserably. Like his father Martin says, he needs our prayers.

The King’s Speech garners top awards at the Oscars. Bravo! It’s good to know that Academy voters can still recognize a good movie when they see it. Complete list of Sunday’s winners here.

Of Gods and Men named Best Picture at France’s Cesar Awards. The French version of the Academy Awards bestows its top honor on the deserving film about Catholic monks facing increasing threats from radical Islamic terrorists during the Algerian Civil War of the 1990’s. On the other end of the spectrum… M. Night Shyamalan‘s The Last Airbender was the big “winner” at the Razzies.

Did Hollywood’s liberal bias kill Superman? Fox News’ John Stossel makes the case that the pro-choice viewpoint of  the documentary Waiting for Superman was kryptonite to its chances of garnering an Academy Award nomination. Of course, that pro-choice point of view it represented had to do with providing options for low-income parents with children trapped in failing public schools.    

Critic Evan Derrick chooses the most-inspirational film of the year. The nominees include a gruff marshal, a stuttering king, a toy cowboy, a struggling boxer and a boy and his dragon.
