Sad news. Steven Mayer, the missing Long Island man, I’ve been telling you about in this space for several days, has been found dead in a wooded area near Sound Path, according to Riverhead Police. The exact cause of death remains under investigation.

The discovery of Steven Mayer’s body brings the search for for the 65-year-old scrap metal trader to a heartbreaking end for his family,

including his wife Susan, four children and ten grandchildren.

Over 3,000 volunteers participated in the search — proving that there are a lot of caring, good people out there in this world.
