Do you believe that you are always at the right place at the right time?  I do. I see it happen every day, since I know that we are so tapped in to the Universe. I think of a song and it comes on the radio immediately. I visualize a person and they call or show up. Today was such a day.

I was visiting friends who live near another friend who I haven’t seen in more than a year. I left their home and headed out to have breakfast. Sitting in my car enjoying an egg white and spinach sandwich, I was in the parking lot about fifteen minutes and then headed to a local mall to pick up a gift for my niece whose bridal shower was my destination later in the day. I will be officiating at her wedding in California in May. She was a 2 years old flower girl at my wedding and now she will soon be a beautiful bride. I passed by the development where my other friend lives and waved as I drove by. I stopped at the Cherry Hill Mall and walked through the door only to find that the stores weren’t open. I walked back to the car and headed from NJ to PA, intending to go the King of Prussia Mall which is near the home where the shower was to be. As I was approaching the bridge that spans the Delaware River, I glance to my left and who do I see waving from the passenger seat of the car beside me? Of course, it is my friend and his partner. He rolls down the window as the two of them smile and we ever so briefly catch up as traffic speeds up. I laugh hysterically and imagine that he shook his head in amazement. He has referred to these experiences as “Edie Moments,” since they are, in both of our minds, miraculous occurrences that I live by and expect to occur.

I consider the possibility that had I been a moment earlier or later, then we may have missed each other. Each step along the way, each ‘delay’ or detour brought us to the precise instant when our paths crossed. Conscious or unconscious decisions on each of our parts, had us arriving there and then. OR …. what if, no matter what we did this morning, we still would have met up? Quantum physics, Divine Design or cosmic coincidence? The Universe clearly has a sense of humor.
