“Your word is the power you have to create. Your word is the gift that comes directly from God.”-don Miguel Ruiz

Do you believe in answered prayer?  I do. I see it. I feel it. I experience it in my daily life. Like most of us, I was taught that prayer was a petition to a celestial entity for something I don’t yet have, that I might want or for a  desired outcome. These days, I view it as a certainty that all is in Divine Order and that I am part of The One in All.  I grew up in the Jewish tradition, but consider my practice eclectic….a Spiritual Gypsy, a Jewish Pagan, whose religion is love, with the knowing that God’s too big to put in a box. This past Sunday, I was part of a gathering of interfaith clergy at Pebble Hill Church in Doylestown, PA  and a few lay people who were interested in spiritual dialogue and the ways in which we could blend our various ideologies into a heart centered soul soup. I saw folks I have known for many years, including Bill Marchiony who, smiling handed me an autographed copy of his book that focuses on the idea that prayer is portable and always effective.

In Practical Prayer For Real Results, Bill invokes the concepts brought to light by theologian, writer and teacher, Ernest Holmes. Science of Mind/Religious Science which is under the category of New Thought  is based on the idea that our thoughts are infinitely creative and that according to writer  and speaker (who appeared in The Secret) John Demartini “What  we think about and thank about, we bring about.”

Open this 93 page treasure to any one and you will discover a guide to creating a life that sings your soul song. Bill sees prayer as scientific, since as he says “it has been proven to work for anyone, regardless of his or her religion, race, gender, location, financial position, history, etc.”  He has found in his own life, as have I, that using affirming rather than disputing words, makes it simpler.  Rather than saying, “I don’t want to get sick,” , a practitioner of these concepts would say, “I experience this in my body  (health, vitality and wholeness. I am perfect health and comfort, right now and always. This harmony and balance is my birthright.”

For the subject of My Work Is Valuable and Rewarding, the words “I am grateful for my perfect work and the fun, harmonious and successful way I  that I do it.”

If you are welcoming love, he recommends this prayer: “My life is filled with Love. Every encounter, every conversation, every relationships is that Divine Love taking form. I know that I attract love and I am love. I have perfect loving relationships.”

What if you doubt? Bill calls them “refutation and yeah but’s” and encourages folks to bring them out into the light of day, rather than having them lurk beneath the surface. A response is a re-affirmation of what is so.

To get a sense of Bill’s qualifications to write such a book:
