Depressed?  Some days are just “down” days — and sometimes there are tough situations that make our lives stressed.  However, it could be your internal “flower garden” that is making you so sad and lethargic.

Your gut contains flora, designed by God to be your garbage disposal system.  It separates the nutrients from the waste and helps move the garbage out.  So what happens if your internal plants and good bacteria look like my flower garden did this past hot Oklahoma summer?

Nutrients don’t get delivered and the garbage doesn’t get taken out.  Toxins float around in the system, lodging in the brain as well as other organs.  For those on a weight loss journey, you find yourself always wanting to eat, because you are starved for nutrients.  The load of toxins can make you feel tired and depressed, which gives you a lack of motivation to stick to your plan.

What can you do?  You can cultivate your flora by taking good probiotic supplements. And guess what kind of eating plan is good for your gut?  Yes, there is a link between too much insulin and not enough healthy gut flora.  Eating a low glycemic diet will help keep your system healthy and on track.

Just another reason for making the best food choices!

Eating to live and living for Christ,
