Two winners will be selected from the nominees list. One will be determined by the Beliefnet Readers and the other by the Beliefnet Editors. This year ten nominees have been chosen:
· Alice Pyne, a 15 year-old cancer victim from the United Kingdom who inspired the world with her Twitter bucket list goal of making everyone a bone marrow donor.
· Brryan Jackson, whose father injected him with AIDs-infected blood as a ploy to dodge child support payments, has shown no trace of HIV for the past two years and hopes to eradicate the disease through his nonprofit organization, Hope Is Vital (H.I.V.).
· Jay Winuk, recipient of The President’s Call to Service Award and co-founder of MyGoodDeed.org, a nonprofit leading the movement to transform 9/11 into an annually recognized National Day of Service and Remembrance.
· Katie Davis, mother of 13 adopted daughters and founder of Amazima Ministries International, a nonprofit organization that caters to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the children of Uganda.
· Joel Osteen, Pastor of Lakewood Church, the largest and fastest growing church in America, and the author of two best-selling books based on his core message that God is good.
· Albert Pujols, star first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals and founder of the Pujols Family Foundation, which helps young individuals with Down syndrome and also donates food, clothing and medical supplies to his native country, the Dominican Republic.
· Steve Jobs, who recently died of pancreatic cancer and brought some of the greatest contributions to the world of technology with his invention of Apple products.
· Pat Summit, the Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball head coach who continues to lead her team to victory with 10 titles and eight NCAA national championships despite her recent diagnosis with early onset dementia.
· Jordan Cullbreath, a Princeton Running Back who overcame aplastic anemia, a rare disease that affects the body’s production of blood cells, and inspired the country with his comeback during his senior year of college.
· Billy Graham, Christian evangelist best known for his worldwide evangelistic crusades preaching the message of Christianity to more people than anyone in history.
