On this anniversary, we remember and honor those who gave their lives for others - the passengers who battled the terrorists and brought down the plane in a Pennsylvania field before it could reach Washington. The brave men and women who gave their lives at the Pentagon and at Ground Zero in New York City.
America is resilient. America is a nation of hope and stronger because of 9/11. We understand more than ever that freedom comes with a price. And, like the steel Cross that rose out of the ashes of the destruction at Ground Zero, the spirit of the American people continues to rise to new heights - no longer victimized by fear, intimidation, and the hate exhibited by the terrorists.
We pray for our nation - our safety - our security. Yes, there is still pain and suffering from that day ten years ago. But, we're grateful for the healing and hope that's occurred in the years following 9/11, too.

September 11th was a dark day in our history and the families that lost loved ones that day are in our prayers. Romans 8:28 says to them that love God ALL things work together for good. As we remember the attacks of that day, we can rest assured that even in tragedy, God is with us and He is drawing our nation back to Him. He is causing ALL things to work together for our good.

As we observe the 10th anniversary of 9/11, most of us remember that day so clearly, including where we were and what we were doing when we stopped to watch our televisions as the first, and then the second tower of the World Trade Center collapsed in a heap of rubble. We realized that a whole new kind of battle had begun—even more than a military conflict, though it includes that; this is a war of ideas, a war of beliefs. But the weapons of our warfare, the Bible says, are not physical; they are mighty through God to the bringing down of strongholds. This battle ultimately will not be won with M-16s, it will be won with John 3:16, telling a lost culture that God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. We need to redouble our efforts to get the gospel out, because this is the message that America and the world need to hear; it's the most appropriate thing to focus on as we mark the 10th anniversary of one of the darkest days in America’s history. As Christians, let us all refocus our efforts on sharing the gospel with anyone who will listen.

An Ode to 9/11
Cascading towers, eroding hope, Unimagined devastation, beyond all scope; Sadness deepened, an enemy defined, Patriotism arisen, hearts realigned.
Fathoming not the hand fate dealt, A time of uncertainty, in His presence I knelt; I shall never forget innocence lost, For a nation at peace, an inconceivable cost.
Amazing resilience shone in our eyes, Though heroes have fallen; like the Phoenix we rise; With endurance, we soldier on to run the race, Thanking God for His sufficiency of unending grace.
Recalling that day, ten years come and gone; I will never forget, though life lumbers on; Remembering the loss, a sorrow so heavily weighed, For all Christ died, the price now paid.
He is my Refuge as the arrow by day flies, Wickedness banished before my very eyes; Under His wings, a place of dwelling, I unfailingly find, A truth worth telling: Salvation is mine!
Although the story here does not end, To God be the glory Who triumphs over sin!

We all remember that September morning 10 years ago when a string of deliberate and deadly terrorist attacks sent our nation into confusion, outrage, and despair. It’s at times like these, when we are crippled by our circumstances, that the Father can be our strong tower of refuge. In Proverbs 18:10 we read, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe.” God can—and will—work through every situation in your life to bring you closer to Him. And He will turn evil to good when you commit to trust Him with all of your heart.
