Night Terrors
A person experiencing a night terror abruptly wakes from sleep in a terrified state, however is confused and unable to communicate. The dreamer is unable to respond to voices and is difficult to fully awaken. Usually lasting 15 minutes, people who have night terrors usually don’t remember the events the next morning. Night terrors usually occur during deep sleep. At the end of an episode the person usually lies down and appears to fall back asleep. Usually, night terrors are harmless unless the person also sleepwalks. There are a few reasons as to why night terrors happen but a big factor might be genetics.
