Set and Sustain Your Boundaries
Boundaries are an essential part of having a healthy relationship with others – and yourself! In order to set your boundaries, figure out your limits. What is appropriate behavior for you and others? What is inappropriate or unacceptable? What are you willing to say yes to? What is a definite no? How would you like to be supported? How would you like others to behave toward you? To sustain your boundaries, communicate your needs directly (don’t expect others to just know), and let people know when they’ve crossed a boundary. Preserving your boundaries isn’t easy, but it’s important for respecting and honoring yourself.
