INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup cracker crumbs or unseasoned bread crumbs
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 (1-pound) can jellied cranberry sauce
  • 1 (12-ounce) bottle chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
TO PREPARE:

Combine beef, water, onion, eggs, crumbs, and salt and shape into bite-sized meatballs.  In a large saucepan with a lid, combine cranberry sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, and lemon juice.  Simmer and stir until smooth.  Add uncooked meatballs to sauce, and simmer, covered, for 2-1/2 hours or until cooked.

YIELDS: 80 - 100 meatballs
