Local Salvation Army units conduct ongoing training of volunteers, which it calls "critical partners in helping us fulfill our promise to America of 'Doing the Most Good.'" Many Salvation Army units across the country list their volunteer opportunities through Volunteer Match. To get involved, visit the Volunteer Match website and search with the keyword "Salvation Army." Catholic Relief Services cooperates with a number of local and national groups, including the Catholic Network of Volunteer Service. It has two great resources, both of which are available through its web site: The Response Directory of Volunteer Opportunities and the Volunteer Profile, offering information about nearly 200 volunteer programs.
