What's Really Causing Your Pain?
“What is causing you pain?” I often ask in my workshops. Inevitably, people’s responses always veer toward their circumstances.
“My husband has left me for another woman.”
“My son is an addict, and I don’t know what to do anymore.”
“I have serious financial problems.”
“I have a serious health issue.”
Most people are unable to separate their circumstances from their feelings. They truly believe they feel those negative feelings because of their circumstances. They believe their circumstances are the cause of their suffering and pain. That isn’t true.
