If you are sick, the forces of evil do not want you finding Psalm 103: “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
Nor does evil want you to be thinking too much about Isaiah 53:5 – “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
And the evil which hates mankind certainly doesn’t want you praying over I Peter 2:24: “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
But God wants you to find those gems of Scripture! He put them in the Bible for you and me – for our comfort, for our relief, for our assurance!
