Why Judaism believes God began the world by creating only one human being.
The rabbis of the Talmud taught that only one person was originally created for the sake of peace among human beings, so that no man should ever be able to say to his fellow man, "my father is greater than your father." Hatred between people is often based on claims to greater ancestry. Many cultures have caste systems, depending on heredity. The people of noble birth are privileged; those born to the poor are often pariahs. Class distinctions however make no sense when you realize we all come from common parentage.
