God, are You there?
The title of my most recent novel derives from the name of this mysterious pool of miracles. House of Mercy brokers the notion that asking God for a miracle sometimes does little more than stir up troubling questions: What exactly is a miracle? Is it merely anything we can’t explain, or something more? Do we have to earn it? Why do some people get miracles while others have to live with their suffering? Are the answers about us or about God?
