I was walking through the church parking lot this evening, and I thought, “Huh, Good Shepherd Sunday. Pope’s coming. St. Peter’s Church. Wonder if it’s going to come up?”
Well, yes. I walked in, the bulletin was handed to me, with a big drawing of the Pope on the front, there was a picture of the pope up front, adorned with yellow and white bunting, we sang that hymn about Peter at the end – something Thou Great Apostle? I can’t remember. And the priest preached his usual concise, trenchant homily tying it all together – how fitting it was that on the week after Good Shepherd Sunday, the Pope would be visiting us. He talked a bit, interestingly enough, about the caricatures of Cardinal Ratzinger so prevalent before his election as Pope and how anyone who had read his works knew how false that caricature is and how centered Ratzinger/Benedict is on Christ, our One True Shepherd.

And what about you? Any mention of the Pope’s visit at your place?
While you’re at it, don’t forget the other threads in which I’m inviting your full and active participation:
