Just to let you know, this is how it will happen over the next day:

I am flying to LAX tomorrow morning, getting there around 2:30. My host/talk impresario has said that yes, there’s enough time to take me up to the LA Cathedral to have a look. I’m actually not predisposed to negativity in regard to the Cathedral (except for what I understand is the off-to-the side Eucharistic reservation chapel), and am quite curious to see how it "feels."

Then it’s down for the talk, a little bit of down time…and then back here. My flight’s at 11:55 pm. Back here at 9:30 am Tuesday.

Crazy? Perhaps – but let me tell you my experience. After I give a talk I’m a) wound up and b)paranoid about oversleeping and missing an early morning flight. So I usually don’t sleep much anyway. I think the night I spoke in Arizona, I may not have slept at all.  Plus, if I were to not fly out of LA until Tuesday morning, I wouldn’t be back here until early evening, and what a waste of a day out of my life that would be. I figure if I can grab 4 hours on the plane, I’ll be okay – since I usually get about 5 hours of sleep a night at home anyway.

So…we’ll see how this works!
