Through the Lens of Faith

Looking at this photograph, I am amazed at the numbers of lines and impressions that are struck upon this log. I saw this while on a trip and thought it would almost look like one of those global maps that you see (if this was surrounded by blue and green, of course).

If we each had our own tree log, what impressions would it carry? What memories would be etched into the lines? I know it is said that you can tell the age of the tree by the number of circles. What age would we look like by the lines of our memories? I can imagine there would be smooth lines where positive memories run along the course of life. There may also be chunks of the log that were torn away in times of struggle.

What does your log look like?
