Surprisingly, I’m not as upset as I thought I’d be. I guess I’ve encouraged myself as I encouraged my daughters telling them that this is not the end of the world and we will be OK because God is in control:

ESV Romans 8:28 ¶ And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

And this gives me great reassurance:

Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will.

So, my trust is in the Lord and I’m not going to sweat it:

Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. 6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.

I recommend that all my Republican brethren do the same. And it’s not too hard for me to join you, Christian Obamanites in a doxology and mean it 🙂 In honor of Obama’s win, the doxology is in Hawaiian:May God guide President Obama in wisdom so that he may make decisions that are beneficial to our nation and may he protect him from those who would plot to do him harm. And I pray that we can move on from bitterness and hatred and be truly thankful that we can put the days of slavery and Jim Crow laws behind us. Update: OOPS! I should have posted this earlier today, go and tell Beliefnet why you voted for your candidate. They’re trying to get a sense of the election.
