There is a famous verse in the Bible that says (my paraphrase), “I stand at the door and knock. Whoever opens the door I will come in and dine with them.”

It is a metaphor for Jesus knocking at the door of your heart, waiting for it to be opened to his love.

As you think of that metaphor, remember that millions of girls will hear a different knock. It is not the king of love, the prince of peace, the mighty counselor, the wonderful God.

It is the heart of evil. And it knocks on the door of their brothel-prison. Day after day the sound of that knocking means more abuse, more rape, more slavery.

Today may your Advent be filled with prayers to release these children from this horror, and that the Holy Spirit would move your heart–and many others–to action now.
