Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.   (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

Paul prayed that his readers would experience holy living in every dimension. He prayed that they would be diligent to attend carefully to each aspect of their being – spirit, soul, and body – to maintain a life that would give God reason to smile.

Father,

I have not kept my spirit, soul, or body in tip top shape. Diligence in keeping my thought life pure, my eating patterns healthy, or my spirit in a state of gratitude has not been the order of my day. I repent of this neglect. Today I commit to watch carefully what I allow in. I will fix my thoughts on what is true and good, fix my heart on gratitude, fix my words to line up with Your Truth, fix my eyes on the beauty of your creation, and fix my eating patterns so that the body that you have loaned me will be around as long as You need me here, walking in strength and health all of my days. I ask for wisdom and strength to honor this commitment. Please give me friends who will share these values and hold me accountable.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
