North Korean military officers walked out of talks with rival South Korea in months today. Their abrupt move dashed hopes that tensions would ease on the Korean Peninsula.  The two nations have been on the verge of war since deadly artillery attacks from North Korea in November.

Wednesday’s meeting blew apart because the two sides disagreed about the agenda of their next talks. South Korea wanted to focus on the two recent attacks; North Korea demanded discussion of wider military issues.

“God, build a bridge of understanding between North Korea and South Korea. Teach them each to walk in humility. Give them each courage to be bold in steps for peace.  Open access points to begin their peace talks. Give them hope that you can create a new Korean relationship and ultimately a new Korea. Bind up the blindness, fear and injustice rooted in the North. God, bring change in that regime. May the spiritual renewal you have embedded in South Korea spread now to the North. In Jesus.”
