Daily Scripture

And Jacob said to Pharaoh, “My journey through life has lasted 130 years. The days of my life have been few and hard. I did not live as long as my fathers did through their pilgrimage through life.”
Genesis 47:9

Having birthdays never gets old. Just ask Jacob who complains to Pharaoh of a hard life, that’s just not long enough. Even if you live to be 130, you want more. There’s a lot to study in Genesis 47:9. Reflect on whether or not a life is ever lived to its fullest. Ponder the meaning of life as a journey, or life as a pilgrimage. See what you can learn from Jacob’s lifespan – 130 years…not too shabby!
