Once upon a time in the not too distant past, there was a ‘diet’ ice cream that was being sold in New York City.  It was only 90 calories per serving and boy-oh-boy was it delicious!

People loved it, and because it was so low in calories, they made it a part of their day.  A part of each and every day!  Sometimes, twice a day!

AND … At the end of the week, when they climbed upon the Scales of Injustice, they were surprised to see their numbers climbing, as well – up – up – up!

A loud cry from all, “Why? Why hath the Goddess of Diet Ice Cream forsaken me?”

Was the calorie count off?  Were the ice cream folk not telling the truth?  No!  The ice cream folk were on the up n’ up, the calorie count was accurate.  But …

BUTT (as in big BUTT), the generous Ice Cream Servers filled up the ice cream cups way past the 3 ounce mark.  While coming from a kind and generous place that extra, pretty swirl cost the ‘dieters’ plenty!

At the end of their week, instead of ingesting 5 cups of ice cream at 90 calories, equaling 450 calories, people were ingesting between 900 and 1350 calories.  Without knowing it that extra pretty ice cream swirl was sabotaging their weight loss efforts.

Moral of the Story:  If it’s too good to be true, it IS too good to be true!

Spread the word … NOT the icing!
