A New Understanding of Our Common Purpose

posted by Guy Finley

Whenever our world changes for the better, it does so for only one reason: somewhere, in some place, someone (just like you and me) is suddenly “changed.” In the blink of an eye there comes an unexpected, but long-hoped-for visitation; a totally new idea appears in a mind that’s been preparing just for its arrival.

Every period of recorded history reports the arrival of what must be considered such “game changing” ideas, the advent of some unique insight whose appearance serves to transform the consciousness of the world itself. Of course, revelations such as these occur in all fields of endeavor. Like individual raindrops that feed our streams and rivers, it is new ideas that nourish and sustain the growth of science, art, and the humanities. Yet, seen aright, all that grows out of these varied branches flows, as it does, from out of one vast unseen ocean: self-knowledge.

Could the light of these truths — the hope and promise they hold about our own latent higher possibilities — help liberate us from the host of fears that hold our consciousness hostage?

Imagine the end of all forms of fanaticism born of imagined differences, the beginning of a new order of peace created from the collective understanding that all beings on earth share a common purpose.

Within everyone there dwells a living Light, a consciousness whose love and compassion never flags; it is a timeless intelligence whose wisdom, once awakened, provides both explanation and solution for all of the suffering and sorrow that we see taking place around… and within us.

Finding this higher life is not meant to be the exception to the rule; it is the rule for anyone willing to undertake the interior journey.

    Ur wonderful, a great teacher & a friend. I agree with u .
Man is a totall commbination of spirit & fresh, the spirit on its own is made up of 2 parts ; the good spirit & the bad spirit.
Mans inability to realise the common purpose of life is as a resualt of, his inability to take full charge his life; by puting to work the God-like spirit in him, through power of self awearness .
Rather, he ignorantly went ahead & develop the bad spirit that is in him; with the help of its earthical counter-part (the fresh) against the devine light that is in him. There-by he becames spiritually & morally blind, his value & purpose 4 life is now based on the definition & analysis given to him by the blind & dead consciousness; that leads to slfe destruction.

Let the Force of the Universe Work for You
If we knew that the universe was set up for our higher transformation, and that Love is the underlying force in everything we see, and don’t see, we would never give in to the fear that keeps us locked in a prison of thought. So here’s something to remember that will always put the moment back i

The Nature of Real Courage
To have courage does not mean that we will be without fear. Real courage – the kind of courage we need on a day-to-day basis to act with integrity in our business and personal relationships – is our willingness to face our fears directly. And this goes much deeper than something like going again
