It’s my privilege to worship each Sunday with a renowned scientist who teaches at Harvard. Let me be clear: it’s not a privilege because he’s a learned man; it’s a privilege because he’s a compassionate, deeply Christian man. I had no idea he was well known until someone else told me.

For Christians to assume that Hawking, Dawkins, et al, speak for all (or even most) scientists is just as unfair as for atheists to assume that James Dobson and his ilk speak for all (or even most) Christians.

This is a very important point and one easily forgotten by media focus on people like Dobson.
