One church's message to God's PEEPle

Like the guys at American Jesus, I’m not sure what this church promotional video is trying to communicate.

Thoughts?

My interpretation: Make your own decisions! Join our church.

I’m not quite sure how the former leads to the latter, though. If we want people to make their own decisions wouldn’t that imply that not everyone is going to make the same choice? Some may very well join your church. Others may post a warning on the microwave for future peeps. :D

It was an entertaining video before the message was tacked on at the end. It should have stopped at :45. If the church used their name as their youtube handle/username and posted a link to their church in their profile curiosity would have been stirred up and those who wanted to know more would have had a way to reach them in a less commercial-y way.

(No offense to anyone from that church who may be reading this. I’m just really not a fan of this style of advertisement. )

Don’t be the part of the blind leading the blind? Or as my mother used to say, “Just because ________ decides to jump off a bridge, does that mean you have to?

The message seems to be that visiting their church is as good an idea as sticking marshmallow critters in a microwave.

The peeps are getting in on the Rob Bell discussion. Get in the microwave and see if there is a Hell! In this case, Love doesn’t win.

Pat Robertson blasts SNL over Jesus, Tebow skit!
Hmm. SNL has poked fun with Jesus before… Chances are, Pat wouldn’t have said anything about this skit had it not been poking fun at Tebow… SNL has used “Jesus” in skits many many times. There seems to be a double standard among some Christians when the religious sati
