One of my favorite little inspiring movie gems of 2010 was the overlooked film “Get Low” and I plan on revisiting this quaint story of redemption again this week now that it is out on DVD. It’s a somewhat-true story of a hermit (Robert Duvall) who invites people to come to his funeral while he is still alive. A conniving funeral director ( Bill Murray ) helps him and on the day of the funeral secrets are revealed as confessions are made and forgiveness is offered. It’s a charming, heartwarming drama with a few good laughs as well, and it reminds me why Duvall is one of his generation’s finest actors.
