Emily Anne Reed Loses House, Gains Ticket To Hollywood on American Idol

posted by Evan Derrick

26 year old Emily Anne Reed received a phone call last week that no one wants to hear: “Your house is on fire.” She ran home from her job in Arlington, VA to discover only ashes. Standing on the Idol stage tonight with guitar in hand she looked unfazed. “It broke my heart [to lose my house]… but American Idol could change my life.” After she performed Harry Warren’s “You’re Getting to Be a Habit With Me,” the judges were torn. It was a “no” from Steven Tyler, but Jennifer Lopez said she had “the most interesting voice we’ve heard in 8 cities.” After a little bit of debate, the judges sent her to Hollywood.Hear Emily’s unique and gorgeous vocal stylings in the following videos.

WOW! I am 100% in LOVE with her voice. Crystal clear and timeless! I have never heard a more gifted voice in my life. A true gem… when your voice sounds as beautiful as hers… you dont need to dilute it with studio remixing (Did you hear the Fergie?!) Amazing..amazing, amazing

Emily Anne, I hope you do well on Idol. Your house burning down might just have been a blessing in disguise. Whether you win Idol or not, you have already captured listeners with your delightful voice. I hope you do a recording of songs like the second one you sang (Ain’t Got No Honey Baby). There’s plenty of people, including myself, that would be happy to purchase it right now. Wishing the very best for you!

Emily, If you get to read this, please do an acoustic dvd/cd album of honey babe blues and other similar songs on u tube. I would bet that Simon or any other producer that isn’t asleep will snatch you up.
