Is Peter Furler Leaving The Newsboys? Michael Tait Announced As New Lead Singer

posted by Joanne Brokaw

***UPDATED 3/9/09 6:00 PM ***
I told this morning that I got a tip early today from my friend, Mark Weber, host of the ChristianMusicDaily.com, who said he heard that Peter Furler was leaving the Newsboys and that former dcTalk member Michael Tait was taking over as lead vocalist.
At a show in Texas last night it was announced that Michael Tait was taking over as lead vocalist of the Newsboys, and we’ve all been waiting for confirmation.
Well, it came this afternoon.
WOW. THAT’S at total shocker!

According to the press release, Furler will focus his energies on songwriting and producing future Newsboys projects.
Wes Campbell, Newsboys manager explains, “While the decision to replace Peter on the road was a painstaking one, when the idea of dc Talk vocalist Michael Tait was presented it was a no-brainer to all of us. No one can replace Peter, but we know Michael will bring a new attitude, energy and vocal style that will thrill our audience. To be able to continue a world class show and still have Peter behind the scenes guiding the career and making of newsboys music is a huge opportunity for all of us. It’s amazing that after many years of touring with dc Talk in the 1990s that in 2009 our paths would cross once again. It’s an exciting time for all of us.”
There wasn’t anything more specific about why Peter Furler either needed or requested to be replaced on the road, although he is quoted in the release as saying, “I’m looking forward to focusing on the band’s studio career and spending time in my own bed after many years in a tour bus and hundreds of thousands of miles on the road.” So from what it sounds like, technically, Furler’s not leaving the band, just handing over the frontman reins to Tait?
The band has recently finished recording its new studio album, In The Hands Of God, which features Peter as lead vocalist on the entire album. Street date for this record is May 5th. The release also says taht in the coming days Peter release a personal statement on the band’s website in more detail.
So what do you think of the news? Is Michael Tait a good replacement? Is the Newsboys still the Newsboys without Peter Furler front and center on stage, even if he’s still at the helm behind the scenes?
And head over to this post for a Christian Music Poll: Should The Newsboys Change Their Name?

I was at the show on Saturday March 8. It was at the Dallas Battlecry. The announcer introduced the band as “the Newsboys with guest lead vocalist Michael Tait”. Then, about three songs into the show Michael Tait announced that this was his first concert as the new lead vocalist of the Newsboys. They preformed “In the Light” during the show. I was sitting in the arena above the backstage area and saw that Peter Furler was there watching. After the show it looked like Furler congratulated Tait on how the show went and gave him a hug.

Kristie, thanks SO much for the info! Did Peter even sing at all during the show? And did they give a reason?
Their publicist said there is supposed to be a news release this afternoon but wouldn’t give me any more info. Hopefully we’ll have more details by tomorrow.
Thanks again!!!

I know I’m being selfish but I am so disheartened to hear that Peter will no longer be singing with the Newsboys. He IS the Newsboys! Through years of change, he has been the one constant. I pray everything is ok with him personally and he just decided to go in a different direction.

Yes, I was at the show in Dallas as well. Let me tell you, as a long time fan of both bands, it was one of the most awkward moments of concert going I think I have ever had. I like Michael, I have seen him preform in all three of his bands now. But after Phill, left the band was not the same, (I have seen them before he left and after.)I think that with the lose of Phill and now Peter, they should change there name. It’s just hard for me listening to the “Newsboys” and hearing them with Micheal sing, playing DC Talk songs in the same set. Please don’t get me wrong, I love both bands very much. It’s just not the same. And please, for the love of everything holy, get a bassest. If you want my opinion, Peter and Phill should get back together.

It was quite a shock to me today when I read that Peter was leaving and Micheal was stepping up to the microphone(no pun intended..well maybe). I live in Australia and was the Newsboys keyboard player for 3/12 years from “Boyz will be Boyz” to “Not Ashamed” I’m still friends with all the guys and quite close to John James as he is also living close to my town. I look at the band in this light as all the original members are gone and the heart of the band was Peter, can a heart remain outside the body and the body still function in the same capacity? we can look at Petra for an example, The band goes on and continues to write and perform but is it really the same band? or just a cover band performing the old hits with a few new ones thrown in….I remember Peter once saying to me…”No-One is indispensable” we can only wait and see if this is true….
I wish all the best to Michael as he fits his feet into Peters shoes as Michael is a great artist whom I respect immensely…

Rita, that was my very first thought as well. Peter Furler IS the Newsboys, at least for fans. While fans “mourned” the other musicians we came and went, without Peter it’s just not the same band.
If you could rename the band, what name would you pick, LOL?

In all this though, I’m more concerned w/ Tait.
The guy is extremely talented, and sadly underrated. I don’t know that this move to Newsboys is a good one. I hate to see him throw his solo carer away, even if it is for a “season” or for a tour.
Life on the road is taxing, and most definitely takes it toll, I can see how Peter might want off that bus (no pun intended!), and how Tait might be itching for it. Honestly though, I’m not liking this change. Maybe it’ll grow on me, but I don’t see it being a good thing for the long term for EITHER party.

While it’s disappointing that Peter won’t be singing lead for the band, I am willing to give Michael Tait a chance and I actually think it might re-invigorate the group and make for an interesting perspective– I’ve heard Peter sing the band’s hits for years and years, so now it’s Tait’s turn to have a go at them and lets see what he brings to the table. We shouldn’t place Peter on such a high pedestal as rabid fans are doing– we are idolizing him to the point where we care more about “who sings lead for that band” rather than “who is that band singing about.” I am looking forward to hearing the latest version of Newsboys at Kingdom Bound Christian music festival on August 5th. Tait has a strong voice and I want to hear his take on “Shine,” “He Reigns,” and more.

I think if Peter trusts Michael Tait to take the reigns, the rest of us should give him a chance to.
It’s an exciting time for Peter to get to spend some time at home with his family and Mike to get out there and do his thing. tobyMac was like, “Michael Tait, lead singer of the newsboys, this is something you just gotta see, it’s gonna be a spectacle” as in SPECTACULAR!

First let me say I am sad to see Pete leave the band. It is the end of an amazing era and I wish him well and as always will be praying for him and his family. I had the opportunity to meet the guys back when it was Pete,John,George, and Sean in 89 at Creation. One thing I know about all of them is that they seek to do the will of the Lord. They are all human and have had their moments of failings. Just like all of us they are working to be in the centre of the will of God. So let us just pray for all the bands that we who have touched our lives and remember we will all be together in heaven worshiping Our King Jesus! Shalom!

So, I just saw the “Newsboys” last night in denver and had no clue that Peter was not going to be performing. The four (with Tait) come out and they introdue “a new member” to the Newsboys and then Tait starts talking and praying about not messing up and then they start with him as lead singer. We sat there kind of stunned. I kept looking aroung for Peter to come out and laugh and joke with Tait, but Peter never came…and nothing was ever said. Now for those of use who do not check on the Newsboys every day to see what is up were in shock. They made no announcement at all and left us in the dark at the concert! Let’s just say our last Newsboys concert left a sour tast in our mouths and a high level of disappointment.

Heather, I’m really sorry to hear that’s how you found out. I have to confess that I’m a little bit confused about how the band made this transition. I don’t know Peter Furler well, but from the few times I’ve met and interviewed him, I have gotten the sense that he is not a man of confusion or disorder. So the announcement at the show, the lack of media info, it’s all just very weird and, in my opinion, not really in keeping with the Newsboys general sense of organization and order. I don’t understand why the announcement wasn’t made before the tour.

Just left the Redlands concert. I have to say that I think that it would have been right to notify the ticket holders ahead of time that Peter would not be performing. Michael Tait did a remarkable job considering this was his third show. He did seem to tire easily and had some trouble with the lyrics. It has been sad to watch the slow deterioration of the Newsboys over the years. But 22 years is a long time and we are thankful for all of the music they put out over the years. I can’t imagine that they will be able to carry on much longer without Peter.

Just came back frome the Westlake village concert, I knew about all this just 1 our before the concert by a friend,,, I had already purchased the tickets and planed to go with some friends, so we ended up going… Tait did good, but… I would rather Peter Furler..
I am not a DC TALK fan, and realy missed PETER. .. I have followed newsboys since 1996, and really admired them,,, for their originality, awesome shows, and peter is just an awesome natural frontman, Tait Isn’t, he used to depend on Toby Mac in order to succeed in DC Talk…. Once toby michael and kevin went separate ways, only Toby made it, Michael Tait didn’t have enough to give as a solo frontman… peter was a brain, the natural leader!..
It realy does make a huge difference…
Hopefully newsboys woun’t experience same thing than happend to petra, at the end, even their forced FAREWELL was so poor,… after a nice career…
I really love newsboys, I don’t really like christian bands that much because most of the time they are a poor copy of whatever happends on the secular world,,… but newsboys I was proud of… the only band who would step up! and do things the right way!
excelent concerts…great shows… nothig to envy from secular world..
PETER sorry to see you leave… hope this is not the fading end of my favorite band.,,,,

I was at the Westlake show in California on the 21st as well. I’m a huge Newsboys fan and thought Peter took the band to new heights over the last decade. Peter is an amazing entertainer and lives on the edge in regards to natural entertain ability.
But, remember the difficulty he had when John James left the band. That was, in essence, what the album “Step up to the microphone” was all about. A drummer, becoming the singer?! That is what most people said back then. Most people will recognize that Michael Tait is a better actual “singer.” (Yet, obviously, a very different sounding voice) He is NOT as naturally gifted as Peter, but remember, it is a BAND, not a solo act. Having Jody Davis back on board is amazing, I liked Paul Colman, but man, Jody is just freaking amazing.
So, now, if the Newsboys can gel & bring the “show” that most people expect, having Peter involved in making the magic in the studio might help Newsboys go even farther.
Pray for them.

I am TREMENDOUSLY disappointed, and also feel very ripped off! It is like paying to see the Rolling Stones and not hearing Mick Jagger! I am going to stop payment on my credit card charge, especially since all the promo advertising had Peter’s face on it, announcing “Newsboys Live.” Ethically speaking, it seems to me that a Christian band should act in a higher manner, than to allow everyone to purchase tickets and come with expectations of seeing the Newsboys, only to be let down!

I went to the concert in Denver, CO on the 17th of March and I have got to be honest…my family and I were very disappointed! I have been to many concerts before as a Christian and prior. The performance had no life what so ever which is surprising because last time they were here in April of 07, it was a phenomenal experience! I mean even the opening acts had more energy then the Newsboys! Something is definitely up!
Don’t get me wrong…I truly do love the Newsboys but this was utter shock that echoed from every corner of that church! It wasn’t so bad that I was disappointed but what added insult to injury, I brought my wife, my son and daughter. These tickets were for my daughter on her 13th birthday and it was her first concert ever!
IMHO, I think Michael Tait is fine as an artist but he is just not “THE NEWSBOYS”. Maybe they should rename themselves the DC Boys??
I would like to say God bless the Newsboys for what they do and what they have brought to this world! I truly hope that Peter Furler is doing what God has intended him to do because make no mistake about it as he has made such an impact on many lives before so shall it be now with this latest decision.

I unfortunately was not a Christian when D C Talk was around, even though I had heard about them from friends I never actually heard them perform, so I can not base my opinion on his performance. Having Peter in the background is a tremendous blessing, and I while I am so disappointed we won’t be blessed with his performances anymore, I can certainly understand the need for normalcy in his and his family’s lives.
I just wish I had taken that picture of my kids with the band during the meet & greet last March…never have that opportunity again!

Hello all, My wife, our 2 children under 12 and I attended the Newsboys concert yesterday, March 23 in Redding,CA. I want to start by saying we love the Lord and are grateful to get bands such as Newsboys in Northern CA. Bread of Stone, Vota, and Decemberadio were great opening bands for Newsboys. The evening was an awesome worship service and since we are huge Christian music lovers we were not going to miss this concert. We saved up to see two Christian Concerts this year, Newsboys and Third Day next month! I agree with the earlier statements in that it is about Who they are singing about and they are a band, not a solo singer but I also know that when you spend a considerable amount of money to attend an event or concert, regardless of the reason, you expect to see what is advertised, which in this case it was booked as Peter Furler being the lead singer. After the tickets were purchased, the press release from the Newboys came out. We even called the box office the day of the concert and they were under the impression Peter was likely going to be at the concert as well.
As Christians we should still be able to voice our opinion about being misled, in fact we are called to do so. We thought Michael Tait did a great job, he has a fantastic voice…he just was not who we paid or expected to see as the lead singer for Newsboys. I don’t think anyone is putting Peter on a pedastal by expressing themselves as being disappointed. It simply means we have chosen to listen to him as the lead singer for this incredible band for many years.
Like I mentioned earlier we saved up to watch two concerts this year and we have triple checked to make sure Mac Powell is still the lead singer for Third Day, we can’t wait! God Bless.

wow.. I just read one of the comments by another father (like myself) of a 13 year old girl (like myself) who took her daughter to her first concert, (like myself) to see Peter and the newsboys… needless to say, my daughter like the gentleman’s comments before mine felt the same. She was very disappointed the first time she went to see them and he decides not to continue. Michael was great, as great as he could be trying to fill Peter’s shoes. But its like comparing apples to oranges. They are completely different styles, voices and looks. I agree with one of the ladies before me in the comments… I would think they would try to get another who is closer to Peter’s overall type to replace him, ie Australian, who hits the higher notes … Michael is better at rap, R&B sound with his deep rich voice. Peter is more of a pop voice who can hit the high notes and has a lot of range that is very difficult for most singers to hit.
Big shoes to fit. But bottomline, all praise goes to Jesus, Mike you are awesome in your own right… but so is Peter.. we will miss him!

This is just the beginning of a new era for the Newsboys, just as it was when Peter took over the lead singing position from John James in the early 90s. Peter was great. He still is. He will be missed. But the Newsboys will survive. He wasn’t the original lead singer of the group. He wasn’t the lead singer when they first hit it big with songs like “I’m Not Ashamed” and the album of the same name that spawned it. He hasn’t sung lead on every song since he became the lead singer. The hardest part when a group changes a lead singer is getting a new one that is as good as the old one but brings his own style. I have 102% confidence that Michael Tait can do that. He was great with dc Talk, he was great with Tait, and he’ll be great with the Newsboys. On top of it all, in every interview I have heard with him dating back to the dc Talk days, he sounds like a very sincere person who puts Jesus first. The Newsboys will be just fine.

You know what I think the problem is? No matter how good a band is, it’s really defined by the lead singer. The Stones wouldn’t be The Stones without Mick Jagger. U2 wouldn’t be U2 without Bono. So the Newsboys without Peter Furler – even though he wasn’t the lead singer from the start – is just hard to imagine.
Michael Tait will do a great job; it’s just going to take some getting used to. And I think all of those fans who bought tickets to the shows on this tour really did get stiffed by not knowing Peter Furler wasn’t singing.
Then again, I don’t do well with change, LOL, so I can’t really imagine the Newsboys without Peter. :)

But, I always, ALWAYS known them as an Aussie Band.
Yes, at one time I liked DC Talk, but never really was into them like the Newsboys. (No offense to DC Talk fans, but Toby got on my nerves, nothing personal, just never got into his “style” – it just seemed contrived)
I just bought my kids and I tickets to see the Newboys this Saturday (not knowing this!) and I hope the show is good, that’s all I have to say. My heart is breaking! My kids only know Peter as the singer (although I always known John James as the singer since my “fanship” lack of a better word, goes back to him being the lead singer..)

And we’d also like to say PLEASE, PLEASE! Don’t change your name. The first time I had (this is ANgele typing) heard about the band, I really thought about the name. I am a missionary kid, other words, teh daughter of a missionry. Actually we both are. But the first time I heard that name, I really thought for a while. Their songs have encouraged me beyond compare. Now I’m handing it over to Carrie.
I am happy that you guys have been a band for ages, but why are you guys thinking of Peter quiting?I love you guys really much and if you guys split or Peter goes than you won’t be the same anymore! Please, just continuing being you guys and keep up the good gloriouse work you guys make!
We’re just glad that Michael stepped up to teh plate. Thanks! We’re going to go see them soon in Aurora, IL. Bye!

I’ve been a Christian for a long time but only exposed to Newsboys within the last 2 or 3 years. They have rapidly become my favorite among Christian bands due largely in part to the spirit of Worship & excitement that is generated in their live performances. I am so disappointed that Peter is leaving at the pinnacle of his career, but understand the toll that 22 years of touring must have taken. I’ve been checking out some of the recent youtube videos of concerts with Michael Tait as lead singer & in my mind, it’s just not working. I understand he has a heart for God, but his voice is so much different than Peter’s. We want to hear Newsboys, not DC Talk. Michael singing “In the Light was very nice, but still not familiar Newsboys material.
When I heard Tait singing “Play that funky music white boy”, I just about got ill. It was all in fun, I’m sure, just not what I wanted to hear. The concept of the Newsboys being a predominantly “Aussie” band was being decimated before my eyes. I’m not racist & hope I’m not coming across as such, but the distinction between the old “Boys” & new “Boys” is not subtle. Additionally, the only kind of inferences regarding race I want to hear are those pertaining to human race, not white boy, black boy, integration, colored people etc. After all, we’re all decended from the same set of parents, why should race ever be mentioned?
I listened again to a youtube clip of Peter singing “Blessed be the Name of the Lord” from the Houston We Are Go dvd & what a difference, musically.
Perhaps I’ll change my mind in time, after the next couple albums are released, but I doubt it. Can the “new” Newsboys survive? Probably, but not with the popularity they have experienced in 2008 & prior. I would think more in line with lead up bands or at a 2nd tier level.
Phil Joel has produced some nice solo stuff, as has Paul Colman.
Perhaps Peter will continue to produce albums in some fashion, just not tour. I’ll be keeping my eyes & ears open. We can re-live some of the Newsboys best performances on the “Thrive” & more recent “Houston We Are Go” DVD’s. I was fortunate enough to see them perform in Redmond WA. in April of 2008.

I am a latecomer to the Newsboys, having only tuned into Christian radio these last 3-4 years on a regular basis. Newsboys were always a treat! Wonderful musicianship and spirit which always did what the Bible says to do: dwelling on what is noble, good report, praiseworthy, etc. Just last month, my husband & I were privileged to attend a local Newsboys concert. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Sure, I noticed the change in lead singers, but Michael is annointed, just as Peter was, and while change is challenging, let’s do all we can to spur one another onto good works and love. Let’s not castigate Michael. Let’s not be so quickly offended by race remarks. The world’s way is to find fault, take offense, do the shame & blame game. Grace is the currency of the Kingdom. I am glad Peter is taking the time to be with his family! Besides, someday very soon, we’ll all be together, praising Christ Jesus, Father God and Holy Spirit! AMEN!!

I’ve been a Newsboys fan forever, I am so sad that Pete is leaving. But I know that Peter is such a godly dude, that if he has made this decision it is over lots of prayer. I am really glad to hear that he will still be writing the lyrics, since this is one thing that I really like about the band. Michael Tait has a really nice voice, and I’m sure he is a godly dude. BUT he’s not pete and he sounds totally different and he has a totally different style. So as a fan I really want to cry! Newsboys will not be the same. but as a sister in christ, I know that Pete is doing what God wants him to and I admire him for that. Thanks Peter for being such an awsome witness to christ. You have really helped me in my walk with christ.

It wasnt until i really started turning my ife over to the Lord that i really got into hearing more and more christian music and the Newsboys has by far has become my favorite Band of all times .. I got to see them in Concert when they came to Ky ..and It was a concert like id never been at . It was like I was at a Revival ..is how close to God the Concert made you feel ,So I must say when i heard this ..I was very SHOCKED and UPSET to hear that Peter was leaving .. I know that DC talk and Newsboys are both just musicians to Sing Praises to and About God but Peter has made the Band by his awesome Vocals.. I too understand that after 22 years of not being able to see your family would be hard to undertake and im sure it was a hard decision for him to make this that is why i wish him the best and i wont stop listening to the Newsboys ..its just Taits voice is nothing like Peter and its not supposed to be hes a different person but i do admit the better the voice the better the music is . So i will pray that it will work out as they are hoping it will and that I, along with the other fans that feel like i do can not be upset but just give him a try as thats what it is now and theres nothing we can do about it .. Just Continue to support the Newsboys and pray that they continue to bring Gods word alive through their music ..

I have been a follower and fan of the Newsboys since 1991. When I heard the news that Peter Furler, one of the founders of the Newsboys and only original member, was stepping down as lead singer I was very sad and have been for over a month. Without Furler at the helm I know my interest will greatly diminish. He was the heart and soul of the Newsboys. I had a hard enough time back when John James, their original lead singer left the band, but Furler, their drummer took over vocals and stepped in extremely nicely. This time around the person replacing the lead singer is not a Newsboy and never has been one. Nothing against Michael Tait, but why him? Oh how I with Phil Joel had stuck around and could have taken over vocals or even Paul Coleman who proved he was a true Newsboy for 3 years. I know Newsboys is a ministry winning souls for Jesus, but it is also art and their master painter has stepped aside. I think of Peter often and wish I could shake his hand and thank him for his many years of service in the band. His lead singing and song writing has been a blessing. It’s so hard to let him go.

I was so very inspired by many of the Newsboys songs with Peter Furler as lead singer. The most recent is “In the hands of God”. I asked for my oldest son to get me the CD for Mother’s day and I love all of the songs. My hope is that Peter will sing in another venue. I am disappointed with him no longer being the lead singer of the Newsboys, but more important, I am hoping to hear him continue to sing. Thank you for giving me a voice to speak my opinion.

I found out about the change maybe two weeks ago and I was a little surprised. I don’t mind the change though. I’m not a diehard Newsboys fan but I do admire their work and I own one of their compilation CDs.
To the Christians: I’m more disappointed in your attitude than with the Newsboys. The Newsboys are not to be glorified. They are human beings. You can admire their work but you are not to be getting all destroyed and disheartened at the decisions they have made. You go to a concert because you like music and so you can hear the Word of God expressed through music. A few years back, I remember reading about how people especially women reacted to Michael W. Smith. These females treated him like he was a sexy man that you run into on the street. They didn’t view him as a man of God, they viewed him more like a sex symbol or something.
We are to acknowledge these musicians as instruments of God by way of delivering His Truth through song. Not to glorify them and get all disappointed if something does not go your way.

I thought John James had a good voice and they had some really good stuff when James was around, but Furler was there the longest. I guess I won’t be able to see them anymore now that Tait’s the new lead singer, last time I saw them was in Little Rock on the GO tour, I guess Furler and Phillips won’t be able to drum off. I’m shure there shows will be good with Tait, I’m not being mean but Tait just can’t fit the newsboys they should just be called the “DCboys”.

Had to smile at the comment about Tait being more suited for, “rapping and r&b”. While I have heard him on occasion sing in a more soulful manner, he wasn’t the “rapper” in dcTalk!! He has a more rock sound. Their later stuff was more rock than rap! Christian Music was led by those 3 guys from dcTalk. They took it to a new level and everyone followed in their footsteps – whether the community wants to believe that or not – it is true. Their style may not be like some of yours on these boards – it was different than the Newsboys… but I encourage you to listen to some of Tait’s songs, they are actually somewhat similar to the sound of the Newsboys newer stuff. He sounds amazing on “Something Beautiful”.
I understand that change is difficult. I can see where some of you may feel mis-lead by the posters/advertising. I know it takes some getting used to. Tait is not Peter – nor is Peter, Michael Tait.
Remember, Peter himself wanted Michael to take on this role….
And – apparently The Big Man Upstairs helped Peter with his decision =)

I am glad to see, Joanne, that you have a good attitude in acknowledging what is going on and what has happened. Sometimes when things like this happen people in the industry tend to pretend nothing is happening or defend parties who apparently or allegedly have done something wrong. I think this whole situation could have been handled much better. It is very bad that the switch happened on tour without people being notified. I also don’t think it is right that such a change was made without proper explanation and ahead-of-time warning. I don’t think people realize the effect they have in the lives of the people they minister to and who support them. I do think the fans of Newsboys deserved better than this. Unfortunately, people make these kinds of decisions and do these kinds of things, and I think they may very well continue unless we step up and make a demand for better conduct on them.
If people have sin, have a problem, make a big change, etc.,(i.e. Amy Grant’s divorce years ago, the changes in the Gaither Vocal Band and the changes here)just tell us that. For instance, apparently when John James left the Newsboys the explanation was that he was going to help in some sort of a ministry near his hometown and be in ministry. I read a detailed article with him recently explaining that it was not that at all. It was due to other personal things, but not that at all. Then why did they say that? It makes it look like they are lying. So, when this comes along it is more difficult to believe if the Newsboys are telling the truth. This would be avoided if they would just tell the truth and be up front with us. Explaining would just keep away speculation.

I do not like hearing him on the radio as the newsboys and singing songs Peter Furler already recorded. I am appalled that people are so unforgiving and do not even show some understanding for something that Peter Furler feels called by God to do at this time in his life. He is also probably exhausted from all the touring.
As for Michael Tait, he has an amazing voice and love for God, and whether he feels he has found a good fit or not, let’s give it some time and not be so critical. God is not a God of condemnation but gives us a free choice “our choice” not what others think we are called to do,but what we feel God has for us.

And then that strange comment Tait made on the Winther-Jamm-Broadcast, about that it is typical, that a Black is forced to go on that elevator-thing. So, it is confirmed. When you guys attend a Newsboys concert, you are there to PRAISE Peter Furler !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When a decision is made that causes no physical nor mental harm, ACCEPT IT and ADJUST !!!!!!!!!!!! Souls are being introduced to CHRIST !!! by a talented singer who was called upon to replace a talented singer. And for ‘christians’ who enjoy attending events where the NAME OF THE LORD is LIFTED, the band did very well – a different experience with Michael Tait, but enjoyable. They should not change the band’s name !! There are hamburgers with a far more enjoyable flavor than a steak !!!!

And, I would also like to point out that I must really be sheltered in the word of GOD. I have never heard so much hate coming from
?christians? More then one nation will enter heaven people – get use to seeing their faces down here or prepare yourselves for a lake of fire and brimestone
