Jesus Christ Was a Community Organizer. Pontius Pilate was a Governor.

On Meet The Press yesterday, Tom Brokaw asked Rudy Giuliani yesterday about whether he was too hard on Barack Obama’s community organizer roots, holding up a pin that reads “Jesus Christ was a Community Organizer. Pontius Pilot was a Governor.”

jccommunityorganizer.jpgEver notice that though Democrats have traditionally been more reluctant than Republicans to bring faith into politics, but when they do, they often get real literal and often invoke Jesus Christ by name?

Responding to an immigration bill in 2006, Hillary Clinton said “It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the scriptures, because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself.”

How many times have you heard conservatives invoke Jesus by name around issues like abortion or gay marriage? Is it because they’re so worried about being branded theocrats that they’re careful not to invoke New Testament figures in the political arena?

Wasn’t President Clinton a Gov. before he became President? Seems like this is a bit of a reach to say the least, and will probably offend more than it helps by continuing this “Messiah” image of Obama.

Yes, but Pilate was the one who decided to just vote “present.”

Pilate was a highly educated urbane professional who said the big questions where above his pay scale, Jesus was a galilean(sp?) redneck/hippy working-class carpenter born in a barn.

Hitler, in his Brownshirt beginnings, was a community organizer.
Ronald Reagan was a governor.

You have managed to take a meme that originated on the far-Left dailyKos site, spread through the blogosphere far and wide, migrated to cable and network news, and even to the floor of the House of Representatives, and turn it into a question of why Republicans don’t say “Jesus” quite enough.
The statement, on its face, is misguided and, at least to this person of faith, offensive. Why not have a discussion on the statement’s origins, purposes, and legitimacy, instead of a referendum on who says “Jesus” and why?

Personally I am very offended that people are comparing Sen. Obama to my Savior. They are elevating the Sen. to “god” status. Aren’t we commanded to have no other gods before us? What an abomination!

No, Jesus was NOT a community organizer. Nothing in the Bible gives any credence to the claim that he was a community organizer.
He was a fisher of men, seeking devotees who would help spread his Word, and he was interested in saving souls, not organizing the community.
Furthermore, there are 50 US Governors, more than 30 of which are Democrats. By the logic regarding Pontius Pilate as governor, that means that more than 1/2 of all governors, as Democrats, are Pontius Pilate.
The phrase is absurd.
Obama and his followers have successfully pulled the wool over the eyes of millions of US citizens. Having been properly deceived, they ignore his, and his supporters, arrogance, deception, maliciousness, and vindictiveness.
A vote for Obama is a vote for artificialiality, less than mediocrity, and lies and fabrications.
Obama is not fit to lead the US citizenry as President. He is barely qualified to be Rattle Snake Wrangler in Arizona!

Last time I checked, President Clinton wasn’t a gov.? I’m not sure this is a very smart approach by the Democrats and the media, again marching in lock step, to continue this “Messiah” comparison to Sen.Obama. Most folks, like myself, find it boardering on offensive and frankly, making no sense.

Pilate was a weak governor. When faced with a lynch mob he couldn’t make a decision and allowed an innocent man to be executed. He essentially voted ‘present.’

Obama was an Alinsky People Agitator, a leftwing activist. As Harvard Law Review editor, he wrote: zero articles. As law lecturer, he published: zero articles. As senator, he voted: 130x present.
He has no moral stand, sometimes he has two, diametrically opposed, at the same time.

On its “Community Orgainzing” page, Wikipedia states:
“Organized community groups attempt to influence government, corporations and institutions as well as achieve increased direct representation within decision-making bodies and social reform. Where negotiations fail, these organizations seek to inform others outside of the organization of the issues being addressed and expose or pressure the decision-makers through a variety of means, including picketing, boycotting, sit-ins, petitioning, and electoral politics.”
That describes the actions and outlook of not Jesus, but Judas.
Jews in the time of Christ were looking for the Messiah to be a political redeemer, someone who would rescue them from the tyranny of Rome. Jesus more than once explained His disciples that He had come not to save the country, but to save souls.
In fact, there is a very popular theory that one of the main reasons that Judas betrayed Jesus was that he wanted to force Him into a direct confrontation with the Roman government in Israel.
Jesus came to re-form the individual back into the image of God. Judas wanted to reform society and used Jesus as his tool to do that. That is the religion of Rev. Wright and, apparently, of Barak Obama.

I’ve been trying to get a grass roots response to this going.
Jesus was NOT a community organizer. He did not ask people to sign petitions or picket their local government for better housing. He never told people to revolt against Ceasar.
Jesus died to set us free from our sins. He spilt his blood for us.
If you need a community organizer who was very like Barry O, look no further than Mohammed. He “wrote the book” on community behavior, laws, rules and regulations.
We have one candidate who spilled his blood to keep us free.
We have one candidate who wants to rewrite our laws, our rules, and our regulations.
Please join me in faxing this message to the DNC:
Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
Mohammed was a community organzier.
Democrats don’t know the difference.

Ohio Granny, I guess you have never read the Torah (the five books of Moses). Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy are books dedicated to the establishment of a “Community of God”. and Moses was the Organizer of a people as well as their leader.
Democrats do know the difference, we just want to obey the Spirit of God’s commandments and take care of the community rather than the oppressors. It’s more than just about the unborn, it’s about living, loving and sharing.
We have to rewrite the laws that protect the oppressors and punish them instead of rewarding them. If we do not regulate the Mega-Corporations that deprive us of fair wages, health benefits and even employment, we will become a nation of serfs and overlords.
“Remember, it is a sin to know what to do and then not do it.” (James 4:17) applies to more than abortion, it a[lies to those “good Christian” folk that ran Enron, Lincoln Savings and Loan, and Merrill Lynch and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. It applies to the President and Vice President that sent thousands of American men and women to fight in a war for Oil Company’s greed.

Democrats can call the name of Jesus because he died for them too!
And those who know it, appreciate it and love him!
In serving him, they avoid judging others, or laying down interpretations of the laws that suit their own narrow interests.
Conservatives worship their RELIGION – not their example, Jesus.
For them, Christianity is the Thing – NOT CHRIST CRUCIFIED.
FOR THEM, the LAW is ALL – not forgiveness of sin.
Why would Jesus want a girl to have a child by her rapist? NOT, as pro-lifers would argue, because of any intrinsic worth of the CHILD, but BECAUSE the real moral argument here is FORGIVENESS and ACCEPTANCE.
Yes, the real reason to have a child of a rapist, is because you are at the level of spiritual maturity to recognize that FORGIVING the sinner, and believing that the Love of GOD is more than you will need, and absorbing that love to give to another UNWANTED person. That is the true test. And we need not concern ourselves with doubtful disputations about “life” “soul” “conception”
All we need concern ourselves with is: CAN I LOVE THE RAPIST? CAN I LOVE HIS CHILD? AND IF you can’t, then having it is NO GOOD AT ALL!

As I read how the bad decisions on Wall St. will cause panic and chaos, I am reminded who my provider is and who He is not. I can not rob Peter to pay Paul and use “progressive” larceny to bend the rules of God. My 10 year old son told me on Sabado/Schabat/ that the world would be better off without currency. I understood that he was refereeing to the love of manna and the greed/pride of many beholders. I find the pure at heart closer to God.
But the wicked tell me that they will help the poor with programs funded by trained thieves. Christ said you will always have the poor, but with Obama, you will always have empty talk. Sarah teaches with her life, Obama preaches with his distractions and perversions of scripture.
I do not find Love in those who would not defend infants, whether they be born “normal” “perfect” or induced by a mother who loves her “career” “pride” or her lustful desires more than the cry of her very very small child. In hell she will hear the cry of her children and the laughter of the men, political parties, planned parents and other evil politicians who will sacrifice the weak for their power.
Where was Obama when his Grandmother was robbed in Kenya or when Pembroke, IL went without running water? Where are his papers written as the Harvard Law review executive? When Mayor Daley illegally removed the airport in Chicago and Obama worked with Bill Ayers to hide the truth, where was CBS, NYT, ABC and NBC and their investigative reporters?
Judge by their fruits and discern with your God given mind. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

It’s saddens me to see those who call themselves “christians”
blindly following Obama. He is without a doubt the most anti-christian candidate. To compare him to Christ is blasphemy. Jesus was NOT a community organizer and to compare Gov. Palin to Gov. Pilate is down right mean. Besides it wasn’t Pilate who had Jesus crucified, he tried to talk the people out of it, they wanted Barrabas. For liberals to go around saying these stupid remarks just shows their ignorance along with any followers of Christ who believe them. Please pray for God’s wisdom in this election and get your facts straight before you vote.
There is no hope or choice with Obama.

What saddens me is a bunch of Christians who blindly follow McCain/Palin and put up with blatant lying. I guess some commandments don’t apply if you’re a Republican.

And it SADDENS me that Republicans think it’s fair game to run attack ads and smear campaigns and spread their policy of fear but want to cry FOUL when their words and actions come back to haunt them. JESUS WAS A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER. That doesn’t belittle anyone, like Sarah Palin and Rudy Guliani was doing, nor does it mean that anyone is comparing one to the other. It’s just stating simply that a community organizer plays an important a role same as a governor and ones title doesn’t make one less important or a better person than the other. Why the sudden guilt complex or feigned outrage when Republicans have done the same and much worse? How many atrocities have the Republicans been a party to in the name of God? Is it because Republicans are inciting hate at their rallies to charge their base? If Republicans are morally better, why did the Bush administration and Republicans fight so hard to have no oversight and no court inquiries and want to have immunity from criminal prosecution while the Democrats fought for oversight and accountability for the financial bailout? If you are offended by PONTIUS PILATE WAS A GOVERNOR, then there must be some truth to the statement to makes you so defensive and outraged. If you want to look for comparisons, they are there. Nothing like inciting a mob to pick the wrong person. So you’d rather have Barabbas?
