I am happy for Susan Boyle. I really am. A lifelong dream of singing in front of a large audience is realized and she rises to the challenge with a heartfelt delivery of a beautiful, challenging song. She is Cinderella, Rocky Balboa and Bridget Jones rolled into one tear-jerking package.

Inspirational? Sure.
Heartwarming? You bet.
But what of the audience? Those people at the taping and the growing millions of us watching on YouTube who assumed, based upon nothing more than the way she spoke and the way she dressed, (and I am tagging myself here) that this rather simple woman from a small village in Scotland was she a train wreck waiting to happen?
A train wreck waiting to happen for our entertainment.
Whether we were waiting to laugh or empathize, I have yet to met anyone who can honestly say that they did not hear the first crisp and precise notes leave dear Susan’s lips and say, “Wow, I never expected that.”
It reminded me of the Twilight Zone episode from 1960 called “Eye of the Beholder.”  Rather than explain it, I thought I’d post it here. Each “Part” is approximately 8 minutes.  Would love to hear your thoughts…
