As a corporate chaplain, I spend much of my time in the car, traveling to various companies- so it’s always a plus when I have something other than my favorite bands to listen to. (For as much as I love Mumford & Sons and Keane and could probably erect a golden bust of them somewhere in downtown Atlanta, I still can’t listen to their albums more than once in a day without needing some other form of mobile entertainment.)

I recently discovered the radio station 92.3, which features 24/7 wisecracks from an unending assortment of stand-up comedians. Sometimes they’re crass, lewd and offensive; but other times, they are downright hilarious. Which is how I discovered David Cross. Cross admittedly can be a bit “hit or miss” in making me laugh, but his reflections on heaven are eye-opening here, insofar as they shine a light on some of the ridiculous, laugh-worthy things we Christians actually say in public. (Be forewarned: Cross uses the f-bomb here as if it were going out of style.)
